About Sandra

A native of Texas, Sandra Wright is a contemporary artist creating technique-intensive abstract pieces that draw inspiration from the beauty of nature, and the forms and colors of fashion, past and present. WRIGHT has A lifelong love for art, but found little time for her practice while raising three daughters.

After the death of her youngest daughter in 2009, painting became both an emotional outlet and a source of strength for Wright, who—with the support and encouragement of family and friends, had her first exhibit held by a fellow artist and friend.

Wright’s process involves a great deal of pouring and scraping layers of paint to create a sense of depth and complexity within her pieces, and often includes experimenting with new approaches manipulating the medium beyond a simple brush.
